Ajay is a prominent politician, a respected personality of Udaipur, heads various organizations, and owns Cable & Internet business.

Porwal ji faced a crisis at an age of around 8 years when his father passed away. He was even bound to work as a cleaner at Hind saree store from where he used to earn Rs 240 monthly. For 2 years he worked over there and bore the entire cost of his studies and other expenses. He then worked as a salesman at a Textile firm in Kota for 2 years. He completed his Bcom from MLSU, Udaipur. He enrolled himself for M.A but due to marital and other responsibilities, he dropped it. 

From the experience he got from being a salesman, he opened his own shop named Latika Textiles in Udaipur with an investment of Rs 50,000. After 1 year, he bore some loss so then expanded his business to mattress and shawls which he purchased from North India. In 2004, a prominent Congress leader, Gulab Singh Ji Shaktawat encouraged him to contest in the election for the post of Parshad. His friend Sharafat Khan motivated him to contest for elections and he did step up but due to the false motives and cruel political actions by some famous politicians, he lost the post by only 11 votes, for which he did file a petition in the High court against them and was successful.

After his defeat, he understood the influence of the media in politics so he planned and started Cable & Internet business. He initiated the first electronic news channel of Udaipur: Raj dev media news. But due to unavoidable circumstances, he was bound to wind it up in the year 2007. From then till today he is working with the Hinduja company in the cable field. His son is also into the media and advertising field. He was back in the political field in 2009. He won the election by 542 votes from the Panchvati area of Udaipur. Then in the year 2014, he asked for a ticket from the Congress party but was denied so he contested as an individual candidate but was defeated for the post of Mayor by 242 votes. Porwal is currently the Secretary of Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, President of Bada Bazar Vyapar Sangh, and is a respected patron of Porwal samaj and Wholesale Association.

Working with an NGO, he served 10,000 people with food during the lockdown. They even distributed food items to women and needy people and made arrangements for a family suffering from the virus. They then collaborated with Indira Rasoi to serve the society. Porwal believes that Entry into politics can be made easy by serving the society and by winning people’s heart and not by fraud means Ajay shut down his clothing business in 2007 with a tenure of 12.5Cr which he gained by his determination and honesty. He refrains people from going into the clothing line due to extreme debt circumstances. He believes that Education is of utmost importance to do well in every field in today’s scenario. His motto in life is working hard with full dedication, determination, and honesty. 

Irrespective of the fact that his father passed away early, he was very much inspired by his life lessons and stories. His father was one of the first and top clothing merchants of the Mewar region. 

He has a very important place in his life for his friends some of which are there with him from his school days. He was diagnosed with Corona and was in a critical condition in Udaipur. His friends took him to Ahmedabad for better treatment and with their care and support, he recovered early.
