Abhishek Garg (ICICI Bank)
“Don’t kill your dreams, don’t dream based on what is possible and what is not, dream big and dream to achieve.”
Abhishek is drifting his way into the entrepreneurial world of automobile finance, like he is still connected to his first love of cars somehow.
was born in Jaipur but got based at Udaipur, Rajasthan. His hometown village is Sambhar Lake village. He runs his own business of getting loans for cars, either through a bank’s alliance or through his expertise. Although this business is a new venture for him, it is not a new field to explore. Abhishek has spent his major lifetime dealing with cars and understanding the minuteness of car loans. Abhishek has seen a lot of hardships in his past years and took a lot of lessons from it to build a better future. He studied in a government school and had failed multiple times in his secondary and higher secondary education. So, he shifted from Jaipur to Udaipur and did his 12th standard education with a lot of struggle. He was not very studious in his studies and got his salary of Rs.45 per day. Then he got attracted to computers and did a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from Vidhyapeeth University. From his college days, he remembers a memory, where he got involved in a fight and out of a consequence fled immediately to Pune to find a safe shelter. Later on, he realized that doing a job in the IT sector was not his cup of tea, and immediately switched to the banking sector. He had gained a lot of professional experience from various banks and dealt with the customers in giving car loans. Abhishek adds to this that from his very childhood he was flattered with the cars and as soon as he saw any car running on the road, he would immediately Google about it, read its description, etc. While working as an employee with the banks, he interacted with numerous people and realized that his crucial skill lies in giving car loans and should initiate his own business. Abhishek loves to help people and strongly believes in the ideology of not hurting anyone. He says if someone does good, then it will get reflected in a good way. For his love for The Lake City, he narrates about an SBI Bank’s offer to pay him 1.5 Lakh monthly at Gujarat location, but he rejected this offer out of love and respect for this city.
Remembering his struggle days he feels very thankful to his friends who helped him financially and kept him motivated to move forward. If he got a chance to go in his past then he would be going in his college days and would mend away the fight he had fought on away. He shares a surprising fact about car sales- in lockdown and post COVID19 lockdown phase the car sale has risen from the past 3 years. He works dedicatedly and firmly sticks to excellent customer satisfaction. According to him, one should buy a car taking one’s financial eligibility in mind since today’s car is seen as a comfort rather than a luxury. He says that personal experience and education hold the person together. His role model is Ratan Tata as he is the tycoon in the automobile industry being the most humble person, having a vision for the business, dedicated, and hard working towards his goal.
